In NSW, continuing professional development (CPD) is compulsory for licensed real estate agents. Failure to complete your CPD, or not supplying proof of completion to NSW Fair Trading, can result in suspension or cancellation of your real estate licence.

You must hold a Class 1 or Class 2 real estate licence to be eligible for CPD training. There are no other prerequisites for CPD training.

If you’re working as an Assistant Agent, please contact MRT to discuss your CPD requirements.

You must complete three hours of compulsory training for your CPD. COVID-Safe Business is non-negotiable, but you can select two relevant units from the list below.

The CPD Compulsory Core Requirements course is composed of:

  • COVID-Safe Business (compulsory)

Plus any two of the following:

  • Underquoting
  • Commercial Agency Agreements
  • Supervision Guidelines
  • Material Facts

The CPD Compulsory and Elective Requirements course is composed of:

All compulsory

  • COVID-safe Business
  • Underquoting
  • Commercial Agency Agreements
  • Supervision Guidelines
  • Material Facts
  • Managing High Performance Teams
After you enrol in your CPD training you’ll be connected to the MRT student portal. This enables you to communicate directly with the assessment team.

They provide support on weekends and outside 9–5 office hours. You can confidently work on your CPD anytime from anywhere.

You pay a one-off fee of $125 for the CPD Compulsory Core Requirements or $165 for the CPD Compulsory and Elective Requirements.

We call it maximum value at minimum cost! There are no extra charges fees or hidden costs.

Your CPD units of work are delivered online and are self-paced. There’s no pressure on you to meet deadlines and you can work around your own work and family commitments.

The only deadline you have to meet is to wrap up your course by the end of the CPD year, which ends on 22 March in the year after you commenced your CPD training.

MRT is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 41529) and we issue students with their certificates, statements of attainment and transcripts of results.

Students receive PDFs of their certificate immediately after completing their course. We can print hard copies of your certificate and post them to you for a fee of $20.

Please Note: At MRT we are doing our bit to reduce our impact on the environment. Hard copy certificates are not printed and posted unless requested by the student, a fee of $20 will be charged.
